Book review – The Midlife Kitchen

The Midlife Kitchen, a book by Sam Rice and Mimi Spencer, contains a 150 recipes designed to help those people in their 40’s and beyond to cook balanced nutritious meals that will help with heart health, digestion and blood glucose levels. Their recopies ensure the right balance of vitamins and minerals required for healthy living.

The key innovation of the book, is a star anise dial system to rate their recipes. Each recipe is score across eight factors, including digestive health, blood sugar balance, hormone harmony, energy boost, skin, senses and immunity. Bone joint health, heart health, and mind, memory and mood. each recipe well not only listing ingredients and the cooking method also introduces big dial system which explains which health attributes the recipe contributes towards. For example, a dish maybe good field suggestion, heart health, to be finished.

The book lists the basics you should have in your larder, and explains the benefit of each type of food for your body and mind. The book is a whole cooking kitchen of ideas and has a wide variety of delicious ideas.
